Well, it has now been a year since the Go Local Lawrence festival and we have been busy behind the scenes. Hopefully you are shopping at the Lawrence Farmers Markets again this summer and supporting our local farmers.
Going Local has been working for the past several months with a wonderful group of other "locals" who are thinking even bigger than a once a year event. We are working on the idea of the Merrimack Valley Food Cooperative. A member owned food coop that will bring the ideas of so many people together.
We want to find a way for everyone in Lawrence and the Merrimack Valley to have access to affordable, local, healthy, delicious and convenient food. Local farmers are working hard to change and improve their methods so that we can know that we are eating food not a bunch of chemicals. What a nice idea, right?
We are working hard to reach out to as many interested people as possible. We have a quick Survey Monkey with only 2 questions if you want to keep up to date with our plans or if you would like to lend a hand.
